FAQs > PrivacyBuilders > What is a privacy-safe company?
PrivacyBuilders' definition of a privacy-safe company is one that keeps a customer's personal information private and confidential, unless the customer gives the company explicit (opt-in) permission to do otherwise.
Privacy-safe companies do not share, sell, rent or otherwise disclose the personal information of its customers with third parties. PrivacyBuilders Select™ is a list of privacy-safe companies that have joined the PrivacyBuilders community and marketplace.
Note: many companies sell, share, rent and/or disclose their customer's personal and transactional information with other companies, organizations and entities for marketing and other revenue generating purposes with either implicit, or no, permission from the customer. These companies do not qualify as privacy-safe companies within the PrivacyBuilders definition.
